Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation technique where dead skin cells and vellus hair are gently scraped from the surface of your face. It’s not as simple as shaving of course and it is done with a surgical 10 gauge scalpel. It is a highly effective method of exfoliation. Dermaplaning is not suitable for all skin types, particularly if you have an impaired skin barrier or any active acne, a consultation will help you decide if this is the treatment for you as there are other methods of exfoliation, such as chemical peels. Dermaplaning will remove the vellus hair from your face but I do recommend waxing over dermaplaning if your primary concern is hair removal.
After treatment, your skin will feel fresh, smooth and clean. Products will be absorbed better and make up will glide on easily. Collagen will be stimulated and regular treatments can improve your overall skin condition and reduce the appearance of fine lines
This treatment can be done every 4 weeks or further apart if required. Vellus hair does not grow back any thicker or darker. Skin may be a little pink for an hour or so after treatment but there really is no downtime or inflammation and it does not cause the skin to peel. An LED light treatment after dermaplaning will calm your skin very quickly and enhance the results.
A Ciao Bella Dermaplane treatment includes the use of Million Dollar Facials Dragon Peel, which is a gentle enzyme peel. This helps remove any traces of dead skin cells that may have been left behind.
